1999 Hake / Seaward 23' Shoal Dr...
Extreme Shoal Draft &
Trailerable
She is a fractional sloop-light on the
helm & will accelerate in a
heartbeat, and can turn inside her own
length. The 1999 Seaward 23…..LOA 24’.5’
, with bowsprit 26', has a 8’3’ beam.
Draft: 2’1†(25 inches). She is
beachable, yet is a great boat for the
intercostal and the inland waterways, yet
quite capable on the open sea to the
Bahamas as well, thanks to the hull
design. Displacement: 2700 lbs. Keel
900#. The high bow and transom provide
dry and comfortable accommodations for
passengers. along with a raised bulwark
(foot rail) forward to assure footing
when changing a sail or raising an
anchor.
The Seaward 23 has a sweeping
sheerline and a fair bit of freeboard
forward. The topsides have subtle
tumblehome sections down low, which
extends the waterline beam, adds a salty
look and offers some form stability. The
springy stern features an outboard rudder
assembly, and the nearly plumb bow. This
not only improves performance, but also
creates more interior volume in the
forward cabin. A short bowsprit
accentuates the traditional look and is
also practical as an anchoring
platform
The current owner has made a number of
improvements to the boat over the last
year including updating the electronics.
He also added two new automatic bilges
and additional high power auxiliary pump,
plus a solar panel to trickle-charge the
battery, and new 2019 Sunbrella Bimini,
and cockpit cautions. She is so easy to
single hand as all lines come aft onto
self-tailing winches. There is tons of
storage. both inside the cockpit and
below in the cabin. She is really pretty.
Fast and Family Safe. A great boat
for gunk-holeing the shallow waters
of Florida...Or you could happily trailer
her to your favorite lake or spend a few
weeks exploring a bit of thin turquoise
water in the Bahamas. Right now she's in
the water in North Palm Beach to
view.
