PHOENIX 1992 33FT FLYING BRIDGE
This is a well-made deep V boat that
feels solid in rough seas and runs good
in a head sea. The boat runs
very smooth with no shaft
vibration; I have not had to touch the
stuffing boxes in the four years that
I've had the boat. With twin
375hp Cats it cruses at 23+knots and 30
knots max. There are 3000 hours on
the engines but they still run
strong. The 375's where known for
their longevity and many had 5000 plus
hours. They run cool and have good
oil pressure. I replaced the
turbochargeers on both engines.
This includes the housing and
cartridges. Also at the same time
had after coolers taken off and cleaned
and installed new ss exhaust
elbows. I use Mobil Delvac 15W-40
oil and change every 250Hrs. I've
replace batteries with AGM type installed
new water pumps, auto pilot, vhf, some
bilge pumps and fresh and salt water
pumps and the macerator pump for the fish
box. I replaced the alcohol stove
with an electric induction one. The
generator is an 8kw Kohler.
I am 84 years old and had a bad
fall in September so the family said it's
time to let go. I had a 35ft. Cabo
for ten years and ran it back and forth
to the Bahamas while I built a house
there. Actual lived on it while
building. The Phoenic actually runs
better in a head sea than the Cabo.
I had a 29ft Phoenix before the Cabo
which I ran all over the Bahamas all the
way down to the Acklins. It also
was a deep V with pockets and was a good
ridding boat. This boat is kept on
a boat lift inside Port Canaveral at Blue
Points Marina. During the
Hurricanses the boat is put inside the
building. The boat has been kept on
a lift for the past 20 years, I don't
know about the first 7 years.
