2007 Hunter 41 Deck Salon
The one owner of Vela Via, a 2007
Hunter 41 Deck Salon, has meticulously
maintained, with upgrades, including a
new MasPower (Yanmar) 6kW
generator. She combines a
wonderful blend of performance and
comfort. Her double cabin and
double head arrangement make her ideal
for families.
The spacious cockpit in the 2007
Hunter Deck Salon offers cushioned port
and starboard seating, double stern
pulpit seats, and customized centered
helm seat creating a large area for
entertaining. There are 4 lazarettes in
the cockpit with an extra large lazarette
under the port seat. (This lazarette
contains the new Yanmar generator.
The helm center features a Whitlock
direct drive steering system with single
lever engine control, wheel brake,
lighted Danforth compass and stainless
steel wheel (folding) with a leather grip
covering. Helm electronics on this
Hunter 41 DS include autopilot, bow
thruster, VHF radio, wind speed indicator
and Chart plotter/GPS. Engine
control console is located to starboard.
There is a cockpit stereo system
separate from the salon system. The swim
platform features a stainless steel
telescoping ladder and hot & cold
transom shower. The Hunter 41DS
sports a Bimini cover and canvas dodger
for sun and wind protection. Ample
stainless steel hand rails make it easy
and safe when getting onto the deck and
into the cockpit. Vela Via is setup
to allow for short handed sailing - all
control lines/sheets lead to the helm on
a Hunter 41 Deck Salon making for easy
adjustments while underway. There is also
an additional furling drifter for light
air.
Upon entering the 6-foot-10-inch
headroom airconditioned salon you will
notice the light and airiness created by
the raised deck. Just forward and to port
of the steps is the L-shaped galley.
Corian countertops (with an inset waste
bin and, to protect the dinette, a clear
backsplash with rounded edges) are
surrounded by high, inward-curved
fiddles, which do double duty as grab
rails as you prepare meals and approach
or descend the companionway. These
ergonomic fiddles are found throughout
the Hunter 41 DS along shelf edges over
settees and in the cabins. The
double sinks positioned diagonally in the
angle of the L. Aft of them is a gimbaled
two-burner propane stove and oven, with a
microwave set above, and a
stainless-steel front-loading fridge with
an adjacent front loading freezer. The
pantry, with shelves has a deep bin, and
there's in-sole storage for cans and
jars. With two opening ports, a hatch,
and proximity to the companionway, galley
ventilation is superb. Forward of the
galley is the dinette; all three seats
could serve as extra berths while on
passage, and the table, with telescoping
support, converts to a double berth. A
vertical stainless-steel grabrail is
conveniently located between the galley
counter and the dinette.
The forward-facing nav station in the
Hunter forward of the head, has a
radiused, battened seat for comfort and
efficiency in a seaway, a lift-top desk
with more of those seamanlike fiddles,
and a mahogany console on which to mount
remote instrument readouts with an
additional chart plotter. Opposite the
dinette is a full-sized couch, with a
large drawer under and a LED 12vDC HD TV
and Bose Surround Sound System.
The forward cabin in a Hunter 41 DS,
with 6 feet 2 inches of headroom, has a
comfy double to port, with fiddled
shelves all around and drawers under. To
starboard is another cedar hanging locker
and a Corian-topped vanity with upgraded
additional lighting. The head/shower
is in the peak of the Hunter 41
Deck Salon.
The aft head/shower stall in the
Hunter 41 DS, with two frosted opening
ports, is to starboard of the
companionway; just aft of it is the door
to the aft cabin, with its queen berth
and private entrance to the head,
Corian-topped vanity, cedar-lined hanging
locker, and lots of drawers. With two
opening ports and a hatch,
cross-ventilation. A custom hatch has
been added to allow access to port
cockpit lazarette and genset.
Additional items include dinghy davits
(not Installed) and cockpit cushions.
This is a must see!
